Adopt to Shop is an opportunity to really ‘give back’ to families that just need a ‘hand up’ during the holidays.
You tell us how many children you, your family, your business, or your group would like to purchase gifts for … and we’ll provide the ‘wants and needs’ for a specific child or family.
We suggest $75 per child. We ask the wrapped gifts be returned to our North Pole (Waters Edge Church, 19600 Harrison street) between December 7-11. You will receive information on the families and Adopt to Shop instructions in early November.
Opportunities to impact youth are available through the Millard Business Community Foundation. Below are dates for those opportunities.
As the Millard Public School (MPS) District has grown over the past decades, so have the needs of the families MPS serves.
Here are just a few examples of the changing needs:
* One in three MPS students are on the free or reduced cost lunch program
* There are 105 different languages among MPS Families where English is not the primary family langauge.
* The number of English Learning students has doubled over the past five years.
While MPS is making the necassary adjustments to meet the changing needs, our help is needed.
Project Wee Care has a vision to collaborate with non profits, civic groups, businesses, Churches, and individuals to provide “Hope” to families thru food, holiday gifts, connections to important ongoing services, and a fun family holiday event.
Applications are now being taken for $2,000 scholarships for secondary education. High Seniors from Millard North, Millard South, Millard West, and Skutt High School are eligible.
