Project Wee Care and Nebraska Diaper Bank
Project Wee Care volunteers will prepare the diapers for distribution to the families. Diaper wrapping at the Nebraska Diaper Bank facility, 9100 F Street. We have an afternoon session (1:30 to 3 PM) and an evening session (6:30 to 8 PM) on November 20. Click to Volunteer.
Heartland Hope Mission Food Packing
Heartland Hope Mission is partnering with Project Wee Care to provide food to nominated families. Volunteers are invited to join us in packing food at the Heartland Hope Mission facility at 15555 Industrial. Our food packing is 1 to 3 PM on December 4. Click to Volunteer.
Target Shopping Days for Gifts
Volunteers will gather to purchase gifts for our nominated families using funds provided by Child/Family Sponsors. The shopping dates are November 19 (9 AM to noon), December 4 (6 to 9 PM), December 6 (9 AM to noon) and December 11 (9 AM to 11 AM if needed). We’ll shop at Target, 12500 K Plaza. North Pole Gift Intake, Setup & Decorating December 7-11
The North Pole (The Waters Edge Church, 196th and Harrison Street) will become a winter wonderland. Preparing the North Pole includes moving tables and decorating. Volunteers will accept Gifts from sponsors that shopped for families, wrap gifts, and prepare the wrapped gifts for pickup. Saturday and Sunday times are 9 AM to noon, Monday to Wednesday are 5 to 8 PM. Click to Volunteer.
Project Wee Care North Pole Family Day December 14
330 plus families will descend upon the North Pole (The Waters Edge Church) to experience all the activities: support dogs, photo booth, Santa & Mrs Santa, selecting gifts for parents/guardians, connections to non profits for ongoing services (food, clothing, mental health, beds, diapers), and an eye check. Families will leave with food, food vouchers, gifts for all, diapers, important connections, and HOPE. Volunteers are needed to help with parking, greeting, hosting families, assisting with the various activities, and carrying items to the families’ vehicles. We will have three shifts throughout the day (8:30 to 11 AM, 10:30 AM to 1 PM, and 12:30 PM to 3 PM). We will have lunch for all volunteers. In 2023 we had 180 volunteers, and needed all of them.
